IMHO these are the best used sports/super cars out there. I’ve had mine for 8 years, with very little mechanical problems, even with progressively tuning it. This year it was a decision between selling and moving into a new GT3 991.1 or updating it to OEM GT2RS look (it’s already conservatively tuned to 850 hp with full suspension and break update, including DSC)… I decided to keep it… it’s been in the shop for 3 months now being resprayed and updated – in two weeks I’ll be picking up a car that will look like a $1/2M GT2RS, will be faster, and will handle “almost” as good. It will be with me at least another 10 years. There really is no substitute for these beasts.
Thought I’d write a quick update on what I have recently heard of the current state of the Porsche 997 Tuners. These, in most cases are respected Porsche tuners, however there seems to be some information (relayed to me) that I thought I might make public aroundtheir performance.I heard some rather interesting and a bit disturbing information on how they develop their tunes and why in most cases they are flawed.
It’s been a few months now that a strange creek has developed from the front of the car, and progressively becoming worse (after spirited driving or any prolonged drive on a hot day). Going consensus is that it is the front Control Arm. I figured, if I’m replacing that, I might as well replace some other suspension parts.

Yes, it’s bad! It’s certainly well known that the one fatal flaw with the Tavor is the spungy 12lb (or so) trigger pull. This became even more apparent recently at the range when I ran, side by side with a friends AR15 platform – one which (I believe) was running a stock trigger, which on average, off the shelf would sit at around 8lb.
About a month ago I had the PASM failure light come on my Porsche 997 Turbo, this switched the control unit off essentially turning off all the suspension management systems – as one would expect. I switched the car off, restarted it and everything was fine.
